An Autumnal Wedding...
In 2015, I had a few months off between jobs. So I designed my wedding, which was fun!
I worked with some wonderful, award-winning florists, Hayford and Rhodes to create a 'table tree' - my idea for an interactive substitute to a two-dimensional table plan. The tree was the focal point of our reception, providing guests an on-theme and fun way to find out which table they would be sitting on. Each guest's name was printed and hand-stamped with their table number (the day before the wedding!) on 35 pieces of hanging bark. Guests loved the 'game' of finding their table number and the table-tree acted as an excellent conversational piece in the drinks reception, which took place whilst the ceremony room was being transformed into a dining room.
I also designed the save-the-dates, invitations, menus, prayer books, wedding 'programme' booklets, and table numbers. I had scented candles made - each bearing a sticker with a personal message and our 'signature' leaves. Each was wrapped in one of several 'autumnal' Liberty's of London fabrics that I carefully chose. Our ushers' ties were also hand-made using a range of autumnal Liberty's print. I loved working with fellow craftspeople and my favourite, fantastic printers - Tadberry Evedale.
